SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary SEN School
Location: Southwark, South East London
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £90 - £110 per day
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-Time Only, Temp to Perm
About the Role:
A supportive and well-resourced secondary SEN school in Southwark is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. The school caters for students aged 11-18 with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech and Language Difficulties, and SEMH.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about special educational needs and are looking to gain or build on their experience in a specialist school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students with a variety of special educational needs in both 1:1 and small group settings
Assist the class teacher in delivering adapted and differentiated lessons
Help to manage behaviour and promote positive emotional wellbeing
Encourage student independence and confidence through consistent routines
Contribute to the development of EHCP targets and monitor progress
Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with young people with SEN in a school or care setting
Calm, patient, and flexible approach to working with pupils with additional needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Comfortable supporting students with personal care (where required)
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
