Job description

Attendance Officer / School Administrator with outstanding interpersonal skills, strong administration skills and the ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a wider team is required for a well-established Secondary school based in Greenwich.

Pay: £16 - £18 per hour

Location: Greenwich, South East London

Job Type: Long term

Working Hours: 7.45am until 3.45pm, Monday to Friday

Job Role:

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Attendance Officer / School Administrator with outstanding interpersonal skills, strong administration skills and the ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a wider team.

Working as an Attendance Officer / School Administrator you will join the Pastoral Team, working with students and parents, monitoring and analysing whole school attendance and punctuality, as well as attendance of specific cohorts and student groups.

As an Attendance Officer / School Administrator you will have an interest in supporting young people, displaying a professional but friendly manner and respecting confidentially at all times.

Duties:

Your duties as an Attendance Officer / School Administrator will include:

  • Monitoring and analysing whole school attendance and punctuality as well as attendance of specific cohorts and student groups
  • Working proactively with the Senior Leader of Learning - Pastoral to ascertain reasons for student absence and implement strategies that will help address and prevent further absence
  • Communicating and corresponding effectively with parents/carers, the attendance legal panel and alternative education providers
  • Efficient and accurate recording of all information relating to attendance through SIMs, attendance logs and statutory returns
  • Supporting the Pastoral team with behaviour and welfare issues as well as working one to one with students who are on specific attendance support plans

Candidate Requirements:

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Strong administration skills
  • Experience of working in a school using the SIMS system would be an advantage
  • An interest in supporting young people
  • A professional but friendly manner, respecting confidentially at all times
  • The ability to work on your own initiative as well as being part of a wider team is essential
