Chef | SEN School | Romford
This warm and welcoming SEN School provides expert care and education for individuals with complex needs related to Autism and SEMH. Their child-centred approach focuses on personal strengths and interests, empowering children to lead active, fulfilling lives.
Being a chef for this school, will give you an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children whilst also putting your skills and experience as a chef to great use.
Chef | Key Responsibilities
- To ensure the smooth running of the kitchen
- To store, prepare and serve food and beverage items in accordance with all Food Handling and Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Daily cleaning of all areas of the kitchen in accordance with the Units schedules and specifications, using appropriate equipment, chemicals, and work methods.
- To ensure documentation duties and procedures are maintained for efficiency and accuracy i.e. temperature of food and equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and cleaned in the appropriate manner. Report any maintenance problems to the Managers as soon as any problems occur, keeping an accurate record.
Chef | Requirements
- Catering Diploma (City & Guilds/BTEC)
- Level 3 Food Hygiene
- Significant experience with line management responsibilities
- Ideally you'll have experience in a care home setting, although desirable this is not essential
- A can-do attitude, resilient and reliable nature.
- Compassion and empathy.
- Enthusiasm to promote independence & choice.
- The ability to work flexibly.
