Classroom Teaching Assistant | South East London | Temporary

We are seeking a nurturing TA to join one of our most flourishing mainstream schools in south east London. The role would require you to support pupils in a group setting. Some of the pupils have special education needs (i.e ASD ADHD or PMLD). The school has strong supporting team who strives to be the best in every aspect of education, facilitating a network of dedicated staff who want to make a difference to young pupils future.

Role: Classroom Teaching Assistant - Primary

Location: South East London

Contract: Full time

Start: ASAP

Rate: £95-105

Ideal Candidate:

  • Supervising and supporting a child with mild ADHD as a 1:1
  • Assisting in the development of appropriate resources, schemes of work and teaching strategies
  • Supporting with behaviour management
  • Undertaking structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities to ensure achievement of learning goals
  • Assisting with the supervision of children out of lesson times, such as playtime and lunchtime duty
  • Establishing good relationships with children, acting as a role model
  • Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all children, supporting difference and ensuring that all have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Supporting the child with their learning and development in areas such as literacy, numeracy, Key Stage and/or subject specific

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.
  • Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with challenging behaviours
  • Safeguarding experience
  • Experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment, supporting the learning of students.
