We are recruiting for a PMLD Teaching Assistant at a Secondary Special Needs Schools across Harrow for children aged 11-19 with Autism, Complex Needs, Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties, PMLD, and Severe Learning Disabilities, SLD.

Starting ASAP on a full time & long term, temp to perm basis.

PMLD Teaching Assistant
Summary

  • PMLD Teaching Assistant at a special needs.
  • Starting ASAP on a full time basis.
  • Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4pm.
  • Pay up to £105 per day.
  • You will need to support children with care as well as education.
  • You will be working in groups of no more than 8 pupils at a time.
  • Working closely with the class teacher and other TAs in your group to provide holistic support to children.
  • Some children require Personal Careincluding toileting, changing and personal hygiene.
  • Some require moving and handling support with wheelchairs and hoists.
  • Most children are working on the Engagement Model of Learning which focuses on 5 main areas: Exploration, Realisation, Anticipation, Persistence & Initiation.
  • This is a Special Needs School in East London for children aged 2-7 with Autism, Complex Needs, Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties, PMLD and Severe Learning Disabilities, SLD.

PMLD Teaching Assistant
Requirements

  • Have an enhanced DBS certificate (or be happy to apply for a new one).
  • Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
  • Minimum of 2 professional references.
  • MUST have previous school experience
  • Provide a CV with a full history from your education until present.
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Some experience supporting children or young adults with special needs.
