Learning Support Assistant | South East London | ASAP Start |Education & Training

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant Teaching. Your central focus will be support a year 7 child academically. This role does entail some SEN as the child has mild ADHD. This rewarding and challenging role will require you to use creative approach towards teaching whilst facilitating an inclusive environment.

Location: SE17, Southwark

Salary: £110 - £120 per day

Contract: Temp to Perm

Learning Support Assistant | Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-on-one support: Working closely with students to provide individualised assistance, ensuring they have the necessary support to reach their full potential.
  • Assisting with classroom activities: Collaborating with teachers to create an inclusive learning environment, adapting materials and activities to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Promoting independence: Encouraging and supporting students to develop independence and confidence in their academic and social skills.
  • Monitoring and reporting: Keeping track of student progress and behaviour and providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND): Utilising your experience with SEND to provide tailored assistance and accommodations as needed.

Learning Support Assistant | Requirements:

  • Previous child-based experience: A proven track record of working with children in an educational or supportive capacity.
  • Experience with SEND: A solid understanding of and experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • DBS on the update service: A valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
  • Passion for education: A genuine enthusiasm for contributing to the educational development and well-being of young individuals.
  • Maths and English (A*-C GCSE is a must)
