Maths Tutor Wanted - Flexible, Rewarding Role!

Are you a passionate science teacher looking for flexible and rewarding work? We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Maths tutors to join our team in East London and the surrounding areas!

Role Requirements:

  • Pay: £30 - £35 per hour
  • DBS on Update: Must have an up-to-date DBS check.
  • Subjects: Maths
  • Location: East London

This tutor role involves:

  • planning lessons and resources around the student's needs. This could be in the core subjects or life skills;
  • plan and deliver engaging sessions.
  • apply skills to raise pupils' confidence.
  • manage children with challenging behaviour.
  • track the learning progress of the student to achieve their desired learning outcomes and being able to provide monthly reports.
  • potentially engage in outdoor activities such as learning about plants and nature with the student,
  • learn about visuals to communicate in some cases.

Responsibilities:

  • Instruction:
    • Plan and deliver lessons tailored to the student's individual learning needs.
    • Teach a range of topics, including basic arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics (depending on student level).
  • Assessment:
    • Regularly assess students' understanding of topics through quizzes, tests, and assignments.
    • Provide feedback on students' strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Customisation:
    • Adjust lesson plans and teaching strategies to match the student's pace and learning style.
    • Create additional practice problems or resources as needed to reinforce concepts.
  • Student Support:
    • Help students build confidence in solving mathematical problems and understanding theoretical concepts.
    • Offer assistance with homework, exam preparation, and school projects.
  • Communication:
    • Maintain open communication with parents, guardians, or supervisors regarding student progress.
    • Provide progress reports and suggest strategies for improvement.
  • Continuous Learning:
    • Stay updated on new teaching methods, math curriculum changes, and math-related technology tools.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching skills.
