PMLD Teaching Assistant | Immediate Start | South East London
Role: PMLD Teaching Assistant
Contract: Full Time
Rate: £90 - £110per day
Hours: 08:30 - 15:30
Location: SE7, Charlton, Greater London

We are looking for a fantastic PMLD Support Assistant in Greenwich to work with children You'll have to adapt your learning and make sure that you're able to support children who have difficulties with their learning. The PMLD Teaching Assistant role will require you to help students with their vocational studies and their progression to further education. This position is a full-time, long-term role giving you the best chance to showcase your ability and land your dream permanent position.

Ideal Candidate:

- Supporting students with PMLD mostly on a 1:1 basis.
- Attend to pupils' personal needs, including social health, hygiene, first aid and welfare.

- Collaborating with staff, parents/carers, and SEN professionals.
- Monitoring and recording student progress and achievements.
Standard Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN ideally PMLD.
- An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) professional reference checks.
- CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
Some of the students are non-verbal and with such a wide range of learning difficulties. Students are supported by a multidisciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Art Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech and Language Therapists. Some students may also have physical disabilities and are wheelchair users. Being able to use Makaton (sign language) or PECs is ideal. Personal care (feeding and toileting) are required as part of the job.
