Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEMH/ADHD Support)
Location: Runcorn, WA7
Pay Rate: £110-120 per day
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young learners? Do you have experience in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) aswell as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)? We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at in Runcorn, WA7.
Role Overview: As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting a Year 7 pupil who requires additional assistance due to SEMH and ADHD challenges. Your primary objectives will be to facilitate smooth transitions between lessons, ensuring the student is supervised and engaged in their learning journey. This role requires a compassionate individual who can provide tailored support to help the student remain focused, particularly in academic subjects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to the identified student with SEMH and ADHD needs.
- Assist in transitioning the student between lessons, ensuring they are supervised and engaged.
- Support the student in participating and remaining focused during academic lessons.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to implement strategies for the student's success.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for the student's overall development.
- Maintain accurate records of the student's progress and behavior.
Requirements:
- Experience working with students with SEMH and ADHD, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of SEMH and ADHD challenges and strategies to support individuals with these needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to addressing the unique needs of each student.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in Special Education or Teaching Assistance are desirable.
Duration and Term: This position is for the remainder of the summer term, with the potential for extension based on the student's needs and EHCP assessment.
