Job description
Remedy Recruitment is currently looking for a highly qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant and Support staff who has experience working with learning disability and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
This position is very unique as even though you will be going to an amazing SEN School as an SEN teaching assistant this will carry this on after school hours in a large 5-bedroom house based in Harrow. The experienced, professional staff at the home, carry on the independence building life skills that are nurtured during the education at the school. The twin track approach helps children develop and flourish in the same way that young children would in a normal loving, caring family home and school life.
Our education element is one of the few places in the UK that combines therapeutic one on one support with a holistic approach. This includes one day a week at a school and one day a week working on a farm with animals. The maximum number of young people and children accepted for this programme is currently 15.
Some children, maybe as a result of SEN, have difficulty interacting positively and appropriately with their peers and adults. Only a joined up (in education and in the home) holistic education can make a real impact. Holistic education is defined as 'helping students be the most they can be'.
How it works;
Remedy is currently working with a unique home and education provider to children and young adults. We challenge, with humility, the perception of 'care homes'. We believe every child with the right mix of nurturing and exceptional home environment and challenging and inspiring education, can achieve amazing things.
Requirements;
- Compassion and kindness to support people in their day to day lives.
- Excellent problem solver who is driven by positive outcomes.
- Good IT & communication skills.
- Due to the remote location, it is essential candidates have a full driving licence and access to their own transport.
- Flexibility
- Previous experience of working with Children with additional needs is.
- Previous experience with 24 hour care.
The great thing about this job is you can do full-time hours within 3 days!!
