Job title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £18 - £21 an hour

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract type: Full-time

Location: Ilford

Reporting to: Class teacher and Head teacher

Responsible for: (Areas of responsibilities will be decided on TA's skills and expertise)

We are currently recruiting for SEN Teaching Assistants.

Requirements:

  • Planning and teaching lessons with small groups or 1:1
  • Teaching primary and secondary students varying from the age of 8 to 17 years olds with ADHD, ASD,
  • genetic disorder, unknown diagnosis and SEMH.
  • Help students develop confidence, independence and encourage them to learn.
  • Behaviour support, implementing behaviour management strategies and promoting positive behaviour,
  • fostering a nurturing and respectful classroom atmosphere.
  • Run practical activities using variety learning and teaching strategies.
  • Plan trips which help and develop skill I.e social skills , gross and motor skills .
  • Looking after the children's physical, social and emotional welfare
  • Teaching them everyday life skills such as basic cooking ,money management
  • Plan school trips and activities
  • Plan and prepare materials for weekly schedule tailored to their specific needs and learning goals.
  • Write up reports for each individual child
  • Plan straggles for each individual child's development
  • Write incident reports

Main purpose

The TA will:

  • Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
  • Promote pupils' independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
  • Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement
  • Support with planning, preparation and resourcing for lessons

  • Uphold public trust in the education profession and maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour, within and outside school
  • Have proper and professional regard for the ethos, policies and practices of the school, and maintain high standards of attendance and punctuality
