Design and Technology (DT) Teacher
Location: Rochford, Essex
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2024
Remedy are seeking a dynamic and passionate Design and Technology (DT) Teacher to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and innovative lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, inspiring students to develop their creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality DT lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that engage and motivate students.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic and personal development.
- Contribute to the development and review of the DT curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all students.
- Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment, including managing classroom resources and equipment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities and contribute to the wider school community.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in DT and education, incorporating new ideas and technologies into teaching practice.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in Design and Technology or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching DT at the secondary school level, including experience with GCSE and A-level specifications.
- Strong knowledge of a range of DT disciplines, including product design, engineering, textiles, and food technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to engage in training and development opportunities.
