Religious Studies Teacher
Remedy are looking for a highly skilled secondary Religious teacher for a school based in Braintree. This person will need experience in teaching Religious Studies and great knowledge of the subject, they will also need to be able to teach Citizenship.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Religious Studies Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. As a Religious Studies Teacher, you will play a crucial role in educating our students about the various world religions, ethics, and values while promoting tolerance, respect, and critical thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in Religious Studies, following the curriculum guidelines.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages respectful discussion, critical thinking, and open-mindedness about religious and moral issues.
- Develop and implement assessments to evaluate students' understanding and progress.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them achieve their full potential.
- Encourage students to explore their own beliefs, values, and attitudes while respecting diversity.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies, Theology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- QTS (preferred)
- Teaching certification or licensure (or in the process of obtaining it).
- Strong knowledge of various world religions, ethics, and moral philosophy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and respect for all faiths and beliefs.
- Classroom teaching experience is an advantage.
