Weights and Measures Inspector
Job description
Our client London Borough of Havering, is looking for a Weights and Measures Inspector to join their Team.
The North East London Metrology Partnership provides weights and measures services on behalf the Trading Standards departments of five North East London boroughs. The department is responsible for inspections and weights and measures business advice across the London Boroughs of Havering, Newham, Barking and Dagenham, Waltham Forest and Redbridge, and other parts of London. We run an accredited calibration laboratory, and calibration services for volume and mass.
- To be a qualified weights and measures inspector with recent (within the last 2-3 years) experience of undertaking weights and measures inspections both retail and non-retail environments.
- To undertake Weights and Measures inspections for partners for five boroughs
- To be the lead on legal metrology for the five boroughs and investigate weights and measures complaints and respond to service requests from businesses
- To undertake and complete weights and measures inspections in other local authorities as required
- To review and sign off laboratory calibrations
- To undertake peer audits and address non conformities in the quality policy.
- To work with the metrology technician to completed air quality tube work as well as weights and measures work.
- 3 days a week on-site.
Diploma in Weights and Measures or equivalent is Essential.
